Sales Engineer – Seattle, WA
Position Summary: As a top provider of metal fabrication equipment, parts, and solutions to manufacturers, fabricators, machine shops, and other industrial customers, we are currently seeking a motivated, results-driven Sales Engineer to develop new business and grow sales within an assigned territory. This role focuses on identifying new opportunities, building relationships with prospective customers, expanding our market presence, and growing existing accounts.
The ideal candidate understands, or is eager to learn, the metal fabrication industry and is comfortable working directly with customers to assess their operations, identify equipment needs, recommend solutions, prepare quotations, and close sales. This is a relationship-focused sales role based in Seattle. The representative will regularly meet with customers and prospects, support demonstrations and events, build relationships, identify opportunities, and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Develop new business throughout the assigned territory by identifying, prospecting, and pursuing new customers through cold calling, networking, referrals, industry events, and in-person visits.
Build and maintain relationships with existing customers while identifying additional sales opportunities.
Visit customer and prospect facilities to assess operations, equipment needs, production requirements, and future opportunities.
Recommend and sell machines, parts, and solutions based on customer requirements.
Manage sales opportunities from initial contact through quotation, proposal development, follow-up, and closing.
Meet or exceed established sales and gross-margin goals.
Maintain accurate customer records, sales activity, and opportunities in the company CRM.
Collaborate with manufacturer partners and internal resources while supporting equipment demonstrations, customer meetings, trade shows, and other territory sales activities.
Qualifications
2+ years of B2B sales experience preferred.
Experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, industrial equipment sales, or a related industry is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of sales fundamentals, including prospecting, new business development, relationship management, negotiation, and closing.
Ability to understand customer requirements and effectively recommend equipment and solutions.
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated, organized, and capable of independently managing a sales territory, including cold calling, developing new accounts, and meeting with customers in person.
Ability to read and understand basic measurements, specifications, drawings, and material requirements is a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance, with the ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
